Family Update

I know it has been a very long time since my last post. Since my last post (August), we have completed the baby nursery, celebrated Thanksgiving and Christmas, and I have started my maternity leave.

Let's start with Thanksgiving.
For the last few years Barry and I have celebrated Thanksgiving at our home with his buddy Dave and his son. This year was no different...we grilled pork chops and had baked potatoes along with pecan pie. After we ate a late lunch, the men went to Toys R Us for early Black Friday shopping and I went to celebrate Thanksgiving with my family. Mom fixed a fantastic meal and eating for two absolutely made it more fun!

On to Christmas...Barry and I spent Christmas Eve with my family at my sister's home in Huntsville. We opened presents and the had a big breakfast for dinner. Mom did such a great job with the meal. On Christmas Day, Barry and I relaxed and got ready to celebrate with his parents. They arrived about 5pm and we ate potato soup then opened presents. This was our last Christmas as a couple and can't wait to spend next Christmas with our sweet little boy.

And the nursery...I was so afraid that it would be hard to get the nursery to look like what I really had in mind, but I was wrong! Baby Ryan's nursery is such a calm and tranquil place. I love going in the room and just smelling the sweet scents. Over the past few days I have washed all the clothes, socks, bibs, and blankets. My hospital bag, as well as Baby Ryan's is packed (saving that for another post). Below are some pictures of the nursery.

We just love the way Baby Ryan's nursery has turned out. It is exactly what I had in mind and am so happy it turned out so perfect! I am hoping to get back into blogging being as I will be home with Baby Ryan until next August. More nursery and baby updates soon.

New Addition

It has been a very long time since I have posted. We have had a very busy Spring with public school ending and more graduate classes beginning. The summer has been an enjoyable one, as I have picked up a couple small jobs to keep busy. I have been babysitting a precious 18 month old and working part-time at a local boutique.

Barry and I are excited to announce that we are expecting our first baby January 30th, 2013. I am currently 11 weeks and everything is progressing wonderfully. I went through a little sickness during the first month and a half, but that has worn off now. I am hoping it stays away! We had a doctor's appointment this past Monday and the baby's heartbeat was beating around 172 beats and was a wiggle worm. :) Below is an ultrasound picture from our 11 week appointment.

Love this time of year!

We have been in our new house since mid-August and we are loving it. Since it has been such nice weather, one afternoon I took some pictures of the pond behind our house, the horse pasture and my sweet dogs. I am sure there will be more pictures to come...especially as we do some landscaping.

Kindergarten Kids

We have had a busy few weeks in Kindergarten. Since my last post we have celebrated Valentine's Day, President's Day and the most glorious bookfair week!!! Every year for Dr. Seuss' birthday we get a full week of fun in the library. Our library hosts a fantastic bookfair and the students get to dress-up. We got three dress-up days this year, Monday was dress like your favorite Dr. Seuss character, Tuesday was luau day and Friday was pajama day. I have pictures from Dr. Seuss day and Luau day for you to enjoy! We also celebrated Western Wednesday last week. We were learning the letter Ww and what better way to learn the letter than to dress-up! The kids, and teachers, really enjoy dress-up days!
