St. Baldrick's Foundation Event

This past Saturday I was blessed to be able to volunteer with such a wonderful foundation. The St. Baldrick's Foundation is a volunteer-driven charity committed to funding research for cures for child cancers. Each year, 160,000 children are diagnosed with cancer worldwide. Cancer is the number one disease killer of children in the U.S. and Canada.(from the St. Baldrick's website). I have attached a link if you would like to donate to and/or participate in a local event. www.stbaldricks.org
This past weekend's event was hosted by Amy Cagle, mother of Auston Cagle who has been battling leukemia for over a year now. This family is an amazing family and I am so lucky to know them and to have been able to volunteer at such an exciting event. On Saturday, people could register to shave and/or cut their hair. We had over 70 people cut or shave their heads. There were also booths with games for children for $1 (all money going to St. Baldrick's) and a booth with funnel cakes, sno-cones and chicken plates. There was also a silent auction with many items from autographed AL pictures, Auburn footballs, Vera Bradley wristlet, Brighton jewelry and many other things. Thank you to all of the people and businesses who donated items in order to help Amy and her family host such a successful event. I believe they were able to raise $12,000.00 on Saturday! Below are a few snapshots I was able to get from the event.

Family

Sunday afternoon, part of our family was able to get together for a late lunch at Top O' the River. I absolutely LOVE to eat there. I snapped a few photos while we waited on our meal.

New House

We put our house up for sale back at the end of May and are hoping to sell sometime soon. We are purchasing the house that Barry grew up in and we plan to do a lot of remodeling. The first project we are having done is a fence for our dogs. The house sits on about 4 acres and we are fencing in a good portion of that yard for the dogs. Below are two pictures of the fence so far.

Once the fence is complete, we will paint it black to match the fence on the adjoining property.

July 7, 2011-4 year anniversary

Let me start by saying that we had a wonderful anniversary and I had a big weekend planned, but due to the chance of rain we decided to reschedule our plans.

To start our anniversary off, we had lunch at Rosie's Cantina

Then I sent Barry on a scavenger hunt (thanks to Mallory for helping with the clues).
When Barry left work he unwrapped this clue and the picture frame below.

He then traveled to his parents house where he received his 2nd clue and prize.
His prize was a camelbak water container that we borrowed from the Hill family.

When he got to my dad's house he found this clue, along with tennis shoes and a backpack. Any idea what the plans are yet?

He made it home and found a map of the Walls of Jericho (in Jackson County) and his big gift...an Apple TV.

We ended up cancelling our trip due to rain, but plan to reschedule in the near future. Friday night we had a nice dinner at the Rock House Eatery in Guntersville. We had a nice anniversary and look forward to many more years together.

Our 4 Year Anniversary

Tomorrow, July 7, 2011 is our 4 year anniversary. Yes, we were married 07/07/07...should be easy for him to remember, right? We'll see. I have added a few of our wedding photos. We have a busy anniversary weekend planned, so I wanted to go ahead and post this.

My girls....my best friends.

Our wedding party

This was on the back of Seth Sullivan's trailer. He took care of the wedding video, music at the reception and held the honor of planning out the ceremony. Thanks Seth for all you did to make our day super special.

Below is a picture of when we presented a bouquet to my precious grandparents, who had been married 52 years that year. My sweet grandpa is now looking down from heaven. We miss him very much, but know he is looking down on us.
Sandy O'Dell was our wedding photographer. She did an amazing job capturing our special day. Thanks Sandy for all the memories you captured!
