1 Month

Ryan is officially one month old and I cannot believe how fast this month has flown by. Over the last month Ryan has started to stay awake more during the day, follow people and items with his eyes, and he has started giggling. He loves to play, eat, and of course sleep. On the eve of his one month birthday he slept for 7 straight hours! I am certain we don't need to get used to this too soon. :) Ryan went to the pediatrician on Monday, February 18th and he weighed 9lbs 13oz and was 21 inches long. We don't have another dr visit until April so he has a lot of time to grow before the next weigh in. Ryan is a happy baby, although we battled a few days where he was fussy. After changing formula, bottles and the amount of time between feedings we got rid of the fussiness. Ryan loves being with his daddy in the evenings and is really adjusting to life with us. Below are some pictures of Ryan on his 1 month birthday.

Our first month with Ryan has been fabulous and we look forward to watching him learn/grow in the future!

One week in and loving life!

We have been home for a little over a week and things are finally settling down. Barry, Ryan and I are finally getting into our own routine and figuring out what works for our little family. We enjoyed having people stay with us and have enjoyed all the visitors. Ryan is doing well and has adapted to his new home. The dogs love him and have already become very protective of him.
Last Thursday Ryan had his first pediatrician appointment at Huntsville Pediatrics with Dr. Klemm. His weight was back up to 8lbs 4oz and Dr. Klemm was pleased. We have our 2 week appointment this Thursday and look forward to see more of a weight gain. Below are some pictures from our first week with Baby Ryan!

Barry and I are super excited to announce the arrival of our sweet boy Ryan Neyland Moss. Ryan made his appearance at 7:35am today weighing in at 8lbs 13oz and he is 19 1/2 in long. We are all doing well and enjoying loving on our new bundle of joy. Having Ryan and meeting him today really showed me what love is. It is an amazing feeling to have him up next to me. Thank you for all the prayers and we look forward to documenting more about Ryan soon.

37 Week Update

We have finally made it to the end of our pregnancy...now we just wait. :) At our last appointment, the doctor said that Baby Ryan is still measuring about 4 weeks early and is weighing about 8lbs! He is keeping a close eye on the growth of our little big guy because he does not want any difficulties for me or baby during delivery. He has mentioned the possibility of a c-section depending on the upcoming ultrasound.

In my last post I mentioned something about the hospital bags...and as a new mom I have looked at lists from other moms as to what I really need to pack and what will be useful for us. I have my bag packed and though it is a pretty big bag, I feel like I only have things that I WILL need. As for Baby Ryan's bag...his just has some clothes, blankets and such in it. I have been made aware that the hospital will help us out with diapers and other items during our stay, so I just packed lightly for him.

Barry and I are getting very excited about welcoming Baby Ryan into our family. We can't wait to bring him home and have our bonding time with him. We appreciate all the thoughts and prayers as we come to the end of our pregnancy.

Family Update

I know it has been a very long time since my last post. Since my last post (August), we have completed the baby nursery, celebrated Thanksgiving and Christmas, and I have started my maternity leave.

Let's start with Thanksgiving.
For the last few years Barry and I have celebrated Thanksgiving at our home with his buddy Dave and his son. This year was no different...we grilled pork chops and had baked potatoes along with pecan pie. After we ate a late lunch, the men went to Toys R Us for early Black Friday shopping and I went to celebrate Thanksgiving with my family. Mom fixed a fantastic meal and eating for two absolutely made it more fun!

On to Christmas...Barry and I spent Christmas Eve with my family at my sister's home in Huntsville. We opened presents and the had a big breakfast for dinner. Mom did such a great job with the meal. On Christmas Day, Barry and I relaxed and got ready to celebrate with his parents. They arrived about 5pm and we ate potato soup then opened presents. This was our last Christmas as a couple and can't wait to spend next Christmas with our sweet little boy.

And the nursery...I was so afraid that it would be hard to get the nursery to look like what I really had in mind, but I was wrong! Baby Ryan's nursery is such a calm and tranquil place. I love going in the room and just smelling the sweet scents. Over the past few days I have washed all the clothes, socks, bibs, and blankets. My hospital bag, as well as Baby Ryan's is packed (saving that for another post). Below are some pictures of the nursery.

We just love the way Baby Ryan's nursery has turned out. It is exactly what I had in mind and am so happy it turned out so perfect! I am hoping to get back into blogging being as I will be home with Baby Ryan until next August. More nursery and baby updates soon.

New Addition

It has been a very long time since I have posted. We have had a very busy Spring with public school ending and more graduate classes beginning. The summer has been an enjoyable one, as I have picked up a couple small jobs to keep busy. I have been babysitting a precious 18 month old and working part-time at a local boutique.

Barry and I are excited to announce that we are expecting our first baby January 30th, 2013. I am currently 11 weeks and everything is progressing wonderfully. I went through a little sickness during the first month and a half, but that has worn off now. I am hoping it stays away! We had a doctor's appointment this past Monday and the baby's heartbeat was beating around 172 beats and was a wiggle worm. :) Below is an ultrasound picture from our 11 week appointment.
